Latest news from USA and Canada. The 5th and 6th rounds of the Enduro World Series took place overseas. We started in Winter Park, Colorado for the 5th round of the EWS. It was a tough race with the high altitude as a factor and also the format of the stages that were rather flat. My weekend wasn’t good and I ended up 52th.
Then, we flow over to Whistler (Canada) for the Crankworx, the annual biggest MTB event in the world. It has also now become a major event for enduro riders. The organisers had prepared a very long race on a one day format, with 2200m of climb, 3700m of downhill and 65km total. I started the day really well with a nice 8th position in the first stage. A top 10 good for the head. Unfortunately, I wasn't lucky in the second run. I had a crash, went over the bar and my shoe stayed stucked on the pedal. I had a hard time putting it back, lost more than 1min30 and finished in the 113th position in this stage. Despite this incident, I managed to get back quickly in the race for the 3 last stages and took respectively the 18th, 11th and 15th positions. I finished up the day in the 26th position, a bit disappointed by my second stage but with an overall positive feeling. I am still standing on the 18th position in the overall world cup ranking before the last race of the season that will take place in Finale Ligure (IT) at the beggining of October.
